Reworks - redo an old tattoo
Cover ups of old Tattoos
Refreshing old Tattoos
|
Retouching of an older
tattoo, see each photo for details.
It is now a revitalized more colorful and exciting tattoo.
Let me "spruce" one up for you.
Here is a primary example, see others
below, thank you.

See how I have covered up an older tattoo of
the sun, with a brighter tattoo of a phoenix.

Magically transformed before your very eyes.
This type of work requires
an appointment before hand to discuss treatment
and prepare art & requires 1/2 down payment before creation of stencil
and design.

This an example
of a more extreme cover up and redo of an existing older tattoo.
The client had an older tattoo of a Chinese Dragon, done by a
good friend who was learning to tattoo, which she now decided
needed to be reworked. Here are some photos to examine.

So you see even
an extreme make over is possible with fore thought and planning.
By the way this
was done
in a single 6 hour session.
Example #3

A new client came in and wanted old work
received elsewhere to be retouched.
Here are two stars I redid.
Basically it is like getting two new complete tattoos plus correcting
the old work also.
Example #4

In this cover up, Arabic writing in
"black" was hidden by me
using a very pretty Koi fish design I made specifically for the
customer.
Example #5

See before & first two sessions,
and a "fresh" dove 9/04/2008.

Example #7

This was one of the better cover up
challenges.

Example #9

Various stages in
transition.
Photo #1 Original, Photo #2 some work done, Photo #3 FINISHED.
This is an
example of a difficult Tattoo cover up request by a client.
In the first photo shown in the upper left hand corner, the
original tattoo,
you will notice the
wolf
head was narrow and flat in appearance.
It just did not look right.
In the second
photo, in the middle, you can see the freehand drawing that I
added to give me a guide to follow for the freehand tattooing
work to be done. The client asked for a more interesting
portrayal of the wolf head and to keep it along lines of
the original, not to just cover up with a completely new
design, but rather work with what he had.
Thus the
finished result was an example of doing what the client has in
mind and not what the artist has in mind. A happy customer is a
regular customer and a good referral.
Example #10

This was a good challenge. How to
cover up a Triquettra with a wild Orchid.
Study this closely to see various visual tricks used.
